His cruel cackle, and assumedly razor sharp wit, secured him a comfortable life perched on the Hutt crime lord's throne, and made him an unlikely, if somewhat niche favourite for many fans of the franchise. Crumb first appeared in George Lucas’ 1983 sci-fi movie as Jabba the Hutt’s personal pet and unofficial court jester.
